Resources

Various resources are available to help us in our ongoing fight against spam. On this page you will find links to the resources we are aware of. If you know of a resource that should be added please take a moment to contact us and let us know.

Email

  • K9:K9 is an email filtering application that works in conjunction with your regular POP3 email program and automatically classifies incoming emails as spam (junk email) or non-spam without the need for maintaining dozens of rules or constant updates to be downloaded. It uses intelligent statistical analysis that can result in extremely high accuracy over time. K9 is for standard POP3 email accounts only. It does not directly support Hotmail, AOL or any other kind of webmail type systems, nor does it support SSL or secure authentication as used by MSN.
  • MailWasher Pro: MailWasher® Pro is an effective email management tool to get rid of spam and unwanted email. Easy to use and very effective, MailWasher® Pro allows you to preview and delete your unwanted email from an unlimited number of accounts in one simple step, before it reaches your inbox. Can be used with POP3, MSN, Hotmail, IMAP or AOL.
  • POPFile: POPFile is an open-source automatic mail classification tool. Once properly set up and trained, it will scan all email as it arrives and classify it based on your training. You can give it a simple job, like separating out junk e-mail, or a complicated one like filing mail into a dozen folders. Think of it as a personal assistant for your inbox.
  • Thunderbird: Thunderbird gives you a faster, safer, and more productive email experience. Thunderbird is desingned to prevent viruses and to stop junk mail so you can get back to reading your mail.
  • Spam Arrest: [A++ used by our staff] The Spam Arrest challenge/response system effectively blocks all the spam while still allowing friends, family and trusted contacts to email you without the risk of being filtered out by imprecise software systems.
  • spamgourmet: If you give your email address to everyone, you are bound to receive spam emails, and you won't know where they came from. Wouldn't it be convenient to give a different email address to every business or web site, while getting all your email as before? Wouldn't it be easiest to assume the address will be given to spammers, and have it work as a spam blocker by shutting off automatically unless you decide otherwise?
